Broken Tee (BT) players shall comply with the USGA rules of golf. All disputes shall be resolved by the BT rules official.
1. BT players accumulate/compete for Stableford points in each 18-hole stroke play with handicap contest. Points are awarded based on the Stableford Regular system in GameBook.
a. Points: Eagle +4, Birdie +3, Par +2, Boogie +1, Double Boogie 0
b. Player Course handicaps apply in BT events
c. Major club outing points are multiplied by 2.
2. An official schedule is issued to BT players at golf season start.
a. The schedule is subject to change due to course availability, condition, weather or other factors.
b. Players will contribute $2 dollars before every scheduled outing to augment BT end of the season prize pots.
3. Makeup rounds maybe played within a week before BT scheduled outings.
a. The Tournament Director must be notified of your intent to play a make-up round before it is played at the scheduled course.
b. All makeup rounds must be played with a Broken Tee member.
c. Enter all scores in Gamebook for makeup rounds.
d. Each player is limited to two (2) makeup rounds.
e. Make-up rounds do not apply to BT majors.
4. BT players shall promptly respond (In or Out) to all official outing notifications within 24 hours. Late responses shall be at the discretion of the Tournament Director to allow participation.
5. The BT Handicap Director will manage player handicaps. Player handicaps are calculated and maintained by the USGA GHIN handicap system.
a. Players maximum handicap limit is 28 for men and 30 for ladies.
b. Before rounds, players will update the Golf GameBook app with their GHIN handicap.
c. After rounds, players will update the GHIN Handicap app with their round scores.
d. Points and scores are posted as soon as possible after each outing to the BT GroupMe Chat and published on BT website www.BrokenTeeGolfClub.com.
6. Players will post scores for the group in the GameBook app.
7. Golf Course yardage standard.
a. Player’s age 64 years and under plays courses 6500 – 6300 yds
b. Player’s age 65 - 69 years with hcps </= 9 play 6500 – 6300 yds
c. Player’s age 65 - 69 years with hcps >/= 10 play 6300 – 6000 yds
d. Players with hcps >/= 20 regardless of age play 6300 – 6000 yds
e. Player’s age >/= 70 years with hcps </= 9 play 6300 – 6000 yds
f. Player’s age >/= 70 years with hcps >/= 10 play 6000 – 5700 yds
g. Ladies regardless of age play 5500 – 5200 yds
8. During golf outings balls hit in the fairway may be cleaned and rolled within a scorecard length from ball location.
9. Plugged balls may be removed from turf throughout the golf course except for hazard areas i.e., bunkers, or water hazards etc.
10. Players may search for lost balls or out-of-bounds balls for 3 minutes.
a. If ball is not found players will take two penalty strokes, drop ball from point of entry laterally in the fairway.
b. Or from the place of the prior shot and hit again with one stroke penalty.
11. BT pace of play is important to timely finishing golf rounds.
a. Players play Ready Golf from tee to green.
i. If a player is ready to hit his or her shot, they may regardless if the ready player’s ball is in front of the not ready player’s ball in the group.
ii. Once all balls are on the green, players take turns putting based on ball distance from the hole.
iii. Players putt their ball until it is holed.
b. If player’s score is at Double Par Plus 1 on a hole pick-up ball and proceed to the next hole.
12. BT players may get full relief from any man-made or animal or insect objects for example fences, cart paths, power boxes, buildings, insect mounds, tree roots, and animals. Drop ball away from the obstruction and play ball to target without penalty.
13. Players shall fix divots and rake bunkers for the next player to maintain course etiquette.
14. After the round, players will verify scores between Gamebook and paper scorecard.
a. Contested scores are resolved by playing partners or the BT Rules Official or the course golf professional.
b. If the Gamebook app is not completed, then player’s points and awards will not be issued.
15. Rainout policy is invoked when play is suspended due to rain or lightning or wind or cold temperatures under 50 degrees. Rounds are official if all players complete at least 9 holes. If not, points will not be awarded, and all money pots will be returned to players.
16. BT Awards & Trophies
a. The Clyde Blake Trophy shall be awarded to the top points leader at the Club Championship.
b. Players must play at least 10 official outings to qualify for the Clyde Blake Trophy, Player of the Year, and the Low Net Champion awards.
c. The top four players who accumulate the most Stableford points shall be awarded monetary prizes.
d. The Clyde Blake Trophy shall be inscribed with the BT Champion’s name and year. The trophy will remain with winner for 1 calendar year.
e. The Distinguish Player of the Year optional award may be awarded based on a player’s club contribution and golf improvement.
f. The Greatest of All Time Chain is awarded to the Stableford points leader after each event. All members who earned the chain during the season will play for cash prizes at the BT Club Championship. Qualifying players must participate in the BTCC to win prizes.
17. For Sunshine State Amateur Golf Association (SSAGA) tournaments, players shall comply with SSAGA tournaments standards. The tournament standards will be provided to all players, and the official document is maintained on the SSAGA website www.SSAGAFL.org
18. BT players shall have fun on God’s Green Earth every outing.
